Team Captains are encouraged to come out to the kickoff for their chance to register their team of 10 for the event, choose their "prime" tent spot for the night long festivities, purchase luminaries, and much more. Since June 2006, the Relay For Life Steering Committee has been hard at work planning and preparing for an even bigger and better event this year. The Committee is also very pleased to welcome major sponsors for 2007: Scotiabank (event sponsor), AGF Funds (survivor sponsor), Appleby College (site sponsor), The Oakville Beaver (print media sponsor), Wave 94.7 FM (radio media sponsor) and Longo's (food sponsor). The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a community celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. It's an inspiring event that involves teams of ten or more people participating in an overnight noncompetitive relay. Participants take turns walking, running or strolling around a track. The Relay For Life in Oakville is scheduled to take place Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Appleby College. 2007 marks the 6th anniversary for the event. To register your team today or to find out more about Relay For Life, contact the Oakville Unit at 905-8455231 or visit www.cancer.ca/relay. -- Submitted by the Canadian Cancer Society Oakville Unit Fenn steps down from local LHIN John Magill, Mississauga Halton LocalHealth Integration Network (LHIN) Board Chair recently announced the resignation of its founding CEO, Michael Fenn.
