Suspicious man lurking in yards Halton police are asking residents to be extra vigilant after a suspicious man was spotted in the backyard of a home in the Glenada Crescent area last week. Police said late in the evening residents of the home began hearing lewd noises coming from their backyard. When they looked outside they saw a lone man, dressed in dark clothing with a grey hoodie pulled over his head. The man promptly fled. Police said a similar incident was reported in the same area last May. The Halton Regional Police Service is asking anyone with information about this or other incidents to call the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747, ext. 2216 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Group of f eight h robs b gas station Halton police are looking for eight suspects following an armed robbery of the Petro Canada gas station at 350 Speers Rd., Saturday evening. Police said the incident happened about 6:20 p.m. when six women, wearing disguises, entered the station and distracted the attendant. While this was happening, two men entered the store and began stealing cigarettes. When the gas station attendant realized what the men were doing, he attempted to confront them, but police said one of the men pulled a handgun on the clerk. The suspects fled the store with a large quantity of cigarettes. All eight suspects piled into a grey Dodge Caravan. No one was injured during the robbery. The two men are described as white and between 20-25 years of age.
