The selection committee wants to hear about these contributions, whether volunteers are steering a committee or delivering a meal, the Oakville Community Spirit Awards wants to recognized those individuals, organizations, businesses and groups making a contribution. Said the Town's Director of Recreation and Culture Nina deVaal, "So many of the recreational and cultural opportunities that Oakville residents enjoy each year are made possible through the efforts of volunteers. "We are privileged to have the opportunity to honour the individuals, organizations, businesses and community groups who have helped shape our community and make it a great place to live." Nominations will be accepted until April 27 for the 2007 Community Spirit Awards. Forms can be filled out online at www.oakville.ca or picked up at Town Hall, all three Oakville Community Centres and Oakville Public Library locations. The selection committee will review all nominations for the awards, which will be held Wednesday, June 13 at the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre. Tickets cost $30 and include dinner.
