31 · Friday, December 9, 2011 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Library branch moving back in The Oakville Public Library's Woodside Branch will be re-opening its doors to the public on Wednesday, Dec. 21 after being closed since August of this year for floor repairs and renovations. The temporary pick-up/drop-off f at the Kinoak Arena (363 Warminster Dr.), which has been heavily used during the closure, will close at the end of the day on Monday, Dec. 19. A huge thank you must be extended to all the staff at Kinoak Arena who have been so very accommodating in the last few months as many of our customers used the temporary location as their makeshift branch. The Oakville community can expect some new services as a result of the renovations. The facility at Woodside has become AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliant with newer public washrooms and customer service desks. Our Woodside Branch is home to many of our special services for customers and the special services area in the branch has been relocated to the centre of the building, beside the information desk. This relocation will enable our staff to serve customers better as the special services area houses accessibility equipment such as the CNIB DAISY reader and the Kurzweil Reading Machine. A 'Welcome Back' open house will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25 of next year to officially re-open the Woodside Branch at 1274 Rebecca St. The `Welcome Back' opening day will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, speeches and some free coffee and snacks. Stay tuned for more details from the Oakville Public Library coming in early January. -- Submitted by the Oakville Public Library
