Harmonica trio plays final The Academy jazz concert of season The Halton Museum Foundation is holding its final concert of the year at the Halton Region Museum on Sunday, Dec. 11. The concert will feature the Ingo Anderson Harmonica Trio. "The Halton Region Museum is a beautiful location year-round," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr, in a press release. "This has been a banner year for the museum. Its 50th anniversary celebrations have included everything from the successful jazz series, the return of the Hearthside evening and Family Day, to its online Facebook presence launched in August. The final act of the jazz series is a perfect way to round out the museum's busy anniversary year." A native of Denmark, Anderson is a Burlington resident, who plays a wide variety of music styles from jazz to show tunes to bluegrass and more. The concert runs from 2-4 p.m. in the Hearth Room of the museum's Alexander Barn. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. The museum is located at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. Tickets cost $20. Tickets are limited so people are asked to buy them in advance at www.halton.ca/ jazzatthemuseum. The museum foundation is an independent, fundraising arm of the museum, which raises money for capital projects at the historic location. 39 · Friday, December 9, 2011 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Orchestra awards teen musician When Orchestra Toronto held its concert this past weekend, it showcased the musical talent of a 17-yearold Oakville violinist.
