26 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday March 30, 2007 www.oakvillebeaver.com Volunteers needed for Terry Fox Run Organizing Committee The Oakville Terry Fox Run needs volunteers to round out its organizing committee. The committee is looking for someone to make sure that the registration process runs smoothly for the Oakville Terry Fox Run. Some of the responsibilities will be to look after the registration table on the day of the Terry Fox Run, ensure that all volunteers are in place for the morning (a list of volunteers will be provided) and that all necessary documentation and pledges are received from each participant. In addition, this volunteer will attend the meetings of the Oakville Terry Fox Run Committee, which are held approximately four or six times per year. Assistance will be provided by the previous organizer to ensure a smooth transition. The committee is also looking for someone to fill the vacant secretary position. This volunteer will take minutes of the committee meetings, and work with the chair in distributing notices and minutes to the committee members via email If you have always admired Terry Fox and thought you'd like to get involved to continue his legacy, here is your chance. For additional information, please contact Ralph Robinson at 905-827-7659 or Pam Damoff 905-827-6338 or email rrobinson@oakville.ca. The 2007 Terry Fox Run will take place on Sunday, September 16th at Abbey Park Secondary School, behind the Glen Abbey Recreation Centre. The Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families and groups to raise money in Terry's name. OAKVILLE - Celebrating 150 years!
