Looking back the past two years, I am still amazed how Cilantro has shaped my Life in Canada. Leaving my comfort zone in Malaysia and embarking on a new journey of Life in Canada was the most major decision of my life, but plunging myself to start a Malaysian Restaurant right in the heart of Downtown Oakville after four months of landing here, is a move that many would term as "very Bold". I readily agree that it is bold decision and there have been many times when I wanted to throw in the towel for many reasons. When customers ask me "Em, How is business so far"? My answer is the same... " Cilantro is like life... it gives me joy, sadness, disappointments, wonderful memoirs, satisfaction, great business days, slow business days, stressful challenges... you name it, I have experienced it." When I feel the negativity creeping up, I just think good thoughts and reach for my memoir books, lifting my spirit by reading all the wonderful memoirs my customers have written. It is our intention to continue to provide Great Food, Love & Live at Cilantro but we can only do that with the continued support from you all. It is also our intention to franchise our Gourmet-To-Go Business Model all across Canada, as I truly believe that Cilantro's Cuisine, which emphasizes a light, healthy yet tasty eclectic menu, is the ideal food choice for Canadians. With this mid to longterm goal in hand, we shall continue to work towards this.... step by step with the much-needed support from our fellow Canadians. I am dedicating this second birthday of Cilantro Cuisines to the memory of Barbara Williamson, my wonderful and beautiful friend who gave me two wonderful years of friendship, love and life. Also, as a mark of appreciation, we shall be giving gifts of love to all dine-in customers on March 31st.
