Description
Matthew Clements was born in Little York (now Toronto) and came to the Trafalgar area with his parents in 1828. H settled on a farm and became interested in municipal affairs. He was a member of the Trafalgar Township Council and also the Halton County Council. He was Warden of Halton County. In June 1882 he was appointed Sheriff of Halton.
