Description
Robert Coates was born on his father's farm in Trafalgar Township. He married twice, first to Elizabeth Tock; they had two children. After his death he married Clarice Campbell McPhail. He taught school at Lowville, Burlington, Norval and elsewhere. When he retired he was appointed Town Clerk of Milton. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Milton.
