Christmas comes Providing access to all Continued from page 24 25 · Wednesday, December 14, 2011 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com MICHAEL IVANIN / OAKVILLE BEAVER TO SCHOOL: Glenburnie School students performed a Christmas concert last Thursday evening. Pictured here are the primary students rehearsing their North Pole Musical performance. The concert also featured a presentation put on by the Kindergarten students. But, once he found the right performers, everything else went smoothly, he said. At a cost of $24 per person, Wright understands this may be too expensive for some families. "Even at a vastly reduced price to the one downtown, I know even then some families are not going to be able to afford it," he said. So he is donating 10 per cent of his available tickets to various organizations, including the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton, Hamilton and Peel, Kerr Street Ministries, United Way, Salvation Army and Home Suite Hope. "This is a chance for me to give back to the community that I'm part of and to share the Christmas spirit. Everyone needs to have something to look forward to at Christmas, no matter who you are," he said. The Meeting House has a bit more than 1,000 seats, and Wright said everyone one of them is a good one. He encourages all families, espe- cially those with younger children. "To try and get a kid to sit through The Nutcracker r is not easy," he said. "Getting a kid to sit through a pantomime requires no persuasion. You don't need them to sit still and be quiet because the louder they are, the funnier the show is." He said the show is full of great characters, including the two ugly stepsisters. "The ugly sisters are fun, jolly characters," he said. "It's these two guys dressed as women who think they are beautiful and think they're the top of the high-class society." The show is also full of song and dance. If the show is successful, Wright said he would take it on a tour next year. The show has a number of performances, including several on some nights. It is the first of three mix tapes set for release and follows an album release from earlier this year, titled Left Brain. "Every song on this album is my feelings, as you can tell by skimming through my YouTube, all of my music is about real life situations and not about typical rap scenarios," he wrote in an email, describing the new album. "I feel like artists shouldn't have to put on this thug facade just to appeal to a general audience. All of my music is about things that I encountered in my life."
