For Russia in Oakville: As is tradition, Oakville residents celebrated the Russian New Year earlier in December. At centre is Snegurochka, Ded Moroz's granddaughter, who encourages her `grandfather' to attend festivities. At right, after dinner, the entertainment includes Russian music and dancing. Gypsy artists performed famous dances including Tsyganochka and a gypsy singer serenaded guests while playing his guitar.
