These marvelous structures with their surreal resonance provided a perfect setting for the music that accompanied religious services and contributed in helping all people to forget, at least for a time, the hardships and mundanities of their daily life. On Saturday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. the Georgetown Bach Chorale invites you to stop imagining and NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION, SANITARY SEWER AND WATER LINE REPLACEMENT Queen Street from Guelph Street to King Street, Murdock Street from Queen Street to Albert Street Town of Halton Hills (Georgetown) As part of our 2010 construction program the Town of Halton Hills is proposing road reconstruction sanitary sewer and waterline replacement Queen Street from Guelph Street to King Street and on Murdock Street from Queen Street to Albert Street in Georgetown. The work will include the following: · Reconstruction of Queen Street and Murdock Street including new driving surface, curb and gutter and drainage improvements · Sanitary sewer and water main construction on Queen Street and Murdock Street · Removal of the concrete road base under Queen Street A Public Information Centre will be held to provide residents with an opportunity to review the project drawings and to discuss any potential construction impacts that may result from the proposed works. Representatives from the Town of Halton Hills and Halton Region will be in attendance to answer any questions. The Georgetown Bach Chorale and their guest, cellist Mary-Katherine Finch, will be presenting a concert of choral and instrumental chosen to advantage of the beautiful cathedral-like acoustic features of the Croatian Catholic Church, located at the corner of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Embelton Road. The music being performed is characterized by long, drawn out harmonies that swell and recede through the space. The works being featured were composed as far back as the 11th century and as recently as the early 20th century. The concert includes among many breathtaking compositions, Lotti's Crucifixus, a solemn polyphonic work with organ-like chords that will highlight the Chorale's skill in performing eight-voice writing and Allegri's Miserere, one of the most sublime pieces of choral music ever written. Deadline nears for PhotoArt 2010 entries Halton Hills Camera Club is hosting this year, the 30th anniversary of its annual photo competition-- PhotoArt. The entry deadline is fast approaching.
