SAME GREAT VEHICLES Add $8/bi-weekly for Automatic Transmission Georgetown teen elated to be selected member of Hot Rocks team By LISA TALLYN Staff Writer All her years of hard work studying dance since she was a young girl has paid off for Angelynn Bland who is thrilled to be a member of the Toronto Rock Hot Rocks dance team. The 19-year-old Georgetown youth was picked from a field of dancers for the team during tryouts at the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in November and began practising with the team two weeks later in preparation for kick off of the lacrosse season in January. She was elated to be picked for the team. "I have always wanted to be a part of a dance (group) for a sports team," said Bland. She said lacrosse was a natural fit because she grew up around the sport. Bland, a George Brown College student taking special events planning, studied dance at her mom (Dori Bland)'s Flamingo Dance Studio for several years, then at Canadian Dance Company in Oakville and Centre Stage School of the Arts. She's trained in jazz, tap, ballet, acro, hip hop, cheerleading and gymnastics. She utilizes that strong dance background in her current role with the Hot Rocks. The team practices once or twice (3 hour sessions) each week and usually performs three new routines at each game, which are held Fridays or Saturdays at the Air Canada Centre from January through April. The Hot Rocks perform on the field three times per game. "When we're not dancing we're doing promotions in the stands," said Bland. She loves being a member of the ANGELYNN team. BLAND "It's really awesome," she said. Bland, a full-time student, also teaches dance at TDI Dance Centre in Acton. She plans to try out for the Hot Rocks again next year. 2010 Nissan Versa Hatchback 1.8S 99* 1.8L 4 cyl, 122 HP engine, 6 speed manual transmission, AC, Power Windows/Locks, Heated Mirrors, AM/FM/CD Stereo, etc. $ 139 /Biweekly This is not a Lease 72 Months $ 0 Down Includes all Fees, PST & GST Add $30/per month for AWD 2010 Nissan Rogue FWD S $ 39 months Lease, 24,000 kms per year 2.5L, 4 cyl, CVT Automatic Transmission, AC, Power Windows, Locks, Heated Mirrors, Anti-lock breaks, AM/FM CD, Stereo and More. 349/Month $0 ** Down Freight Included Martin St/Hwy 25 James Snow Parkway Milton 401 Steeles 585 STEELES AVENUE, MILTON SALES DEPT.
