Georgetown Seniors Centre to elect new board at Feb. 25 AGM By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Half way through February and no major snow storm. Yipeeeee! February 25 is the date of our AGM. It is hoped that many of you turn out to learn about the operations of your Centre. It begins at 1 p.m. following a sandwich luncheon. Elections for new board will also take place. You will need to show your 2010 membership to receive a ballot. That brings me to the point of delinquent renewals. If your membership shows a year of 2009 it is no longer valid in spite of when you purchased it and means you are ineligible to take part in any drop-in programs . Those who attended the Valentine's Tea had a good time and the cake with ice cream was delicious. The 50-50 draw was won by Marnie Thompson. Terri, our co-ordinator is arranging a free training course at the Centre to teach 10 simple exercises to prevent seniors and handicapped having slips and falls. Course will run March 1 from 5-9 p.m. Call 905-873-2601 ext 2271 by Feb. 22 to register. The Drama Club "Mid Winter Blues" luncheon will be held March 8 at noon. They are going to serve up their famous Irish stew with roll, dessert and tea/coffee. Cost is $8. Open to members only. Tickets are available at Reception. This is your last call to sign up for the trip to see the King Tut exhibit and the new AGO. Final seat count is due by Feb. 26. Don't miss out. This exhibit will not be coming to Canada again. 5 Sports & Leisure, Thursday, February 18, 2010 The movie for Feb. 26 is It's Complicated, starring Meryl Streep. Really hilarious! Any donations to the Centre of $10 or more will receive a tax receipt.
