Captain and third-year defender Chris Borges missed the last couple of games of the regular season with an upper body injury and his status for the opening series wasn't known. Another league vet who was brought in to supply some toughness, forward Sean Teakle, also sat out this past weekend's games and is a question mark to see action against Villanova. Looking past the Knights could be dangerous in much the same way Canada's men's Olympic hockey team found out Sunday against the U.S. and its standout goalie, Ryan Miller. Knights' goalkeeper David Jenkins left the team for a month before Christmas but returned to earn OJHL player-of-the-month honours for January, helping the Knights to their best-ever regular-season standing. The Raiders will go with 20-year-old Tony Capobianco as their starter in goal after two fine seasons in Georgetown, although Richmond won't hesitate to turn to 16-year-old Michael Nishi, a Windsor Spitfires' prospect, if things aren't going well. Nishi earned the W in the Raiders' 3-2 overtime win over Kingston on Feb. 13 and saw plenty of action over the past month as Capobianco rested up for what could be a gruelling playoff grind. Because the OJHL expanded its regular-season schedule to 56 games for 2009-10, the playoff series dates will be compressed, with the Knights and Raiders possibly playing five games in six nights to begin their best-of-7 matchup. Other first-round series are: Kingston vs. Vaughan, Oakville vs. Aurora and Couchiching vs. Trenton. This year's four-team Dudley Hewitt Cup central Canadian championship tournament will take place April 19-24 in Sault Ste. Marie.
