There is a potential for the town's water in the future could come from Lake Ontario. What would this mean? With support from Primitive Entertainment, POWER (Protect Our Water and Environmental Resources) is hosting a free screening of Waterlife, tonight (Thursday, Feb. 25), at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre & Library on Church St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the film beginning at 7 p.m. This award-winning documentary causes one to pause to consider "Where do I want my drinking water to come from?" Waterlife tells the epic story of the Great Lakes by following the cascade of its water from northern Lake Superior to the Atlantic Ocean, through the lives of some of the 35 million people who rely on the lakes for survival. A community dialogue will take place and the feedback will be brought to Halton Hills and Halton Region councils. There will also be a surprise for those attending, and popcorn and drinks. For more upcoming POWER community events, go to www.powerhalton. ca Bands band together to help Haiti The combined bands of the Brampton Caledon Orchestra under the direction of Bob Dickson and the Halton Hills Concert Band under the direction of Daniella Baryla performed a well-received community concert for the relief for Haiti at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church recently. All of the money raised-- just under $3,000-- was donated to CrossWorld ministries in Mississauga.
