Atom A Hornets get a surprise visit from Olympic y p champion p Members of the Oakville atom A Hornets benefited from the expertise of an Olympic champion earlier this week. The Hornets were surprised at their Monday practice by an appearance by longtime Canadian women's national hockey team member Jayna Hefford, who put the players through drills and also spoke to them about setting goals and working hard. Hefford is a four-time Olympic medalist (three gold, one silver) and a six-time world champion. The forward scored the gamewinning goal in the 2002 Olympic gold medal game, a 3-2 Canadian win over the United States. Canada had dropped its previous eight meetings with the Americans that year. Hefford also told the Hornets about preparing for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Canada did not win gold at the world championships that year but focused on getting better each practice, and went on to win Olympic gold. Royal Bank of Canada's Play Hockey program and RBC DS Lester Wealth Management sponsored Hefford's appearance at the Hornets practice. $ ' 9$ 1 & ( +2&.(< $&$'(0< OPEN HOUSE!!!
