It might be the fact that she has lots in common with many of the residents of the facility-- she's getting up in years, she has cataracts, and she's arthritic-- but more likely it's because she offers unconditional love to everyone she meets as she lumbers through the halls, her tail wagging. Molly is a 13-year-old (approximately 91 in human years) Newfoundland retriever cross that has been visiting the centre most weekdays since April 2006. Her owner, Barb Hay of Ballinafad, adopted Molly from her vet after she learned that Molly's original owners had to give her up due to her separation anxiety disorder. The dog was fine for the first couple of weeks in her new home, but soon she began trashing the place when she was left alone. Her favourite target was the window blinds. She would pull them down, chew on them, cutting her mouth. Extendicare resident Ivy Jones gives Molly the pooch a hug.
