Blue Fins come up big at short course provincials The Halton Hills Blue Fins came away big from the short course provincials with a gold and a bronze medal going to 14-year-old Kyle Haas. The club had a total of eight qualifiers for this year's Swim Ontario meet and they walked away with 16 top-10 and 33 top-20 finishes in a field of 71 different clubs from across the province, placing 33rd. Stanley, a right side/power on the Bearcats senior volleyball team was chosen for his great improvement and commitment to the team over the season. Milne, who has played on the Bearcats cross-country team, the swim team and badminton, and has recently signed up for track and field, was recognized for her well-rounded commitment to the Bearcats athletic program. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Amy Pond and Cameron Killender. Both are members of the Rebels wrestling team, and competed at OFFSA. Pond, wrestling in the 51 kg category, was selected for finishing in the top 12 at the meet. Killender, wrestling in the 38 kg class was cited for finishing third overall in his class. Christ the King Catholic High School Athletes of the Week are Sarah Hickman and Connor Brown. Hickman, who plays mixed doubles on the Jaguars' badminton team, was chosen for making it to the semis at the Resurrection Catholic High School tournament, playing with her partner Zack Pearson.
