There is a vast selection of artefacts on show and for sale and a stroll round the park afterwards provides a delightful break from our workaday world. Highland Games - June 12, 2010 Youngster taking in Georgetown Farmer's Market There's a long weekend from May 21st to 24th and what better way to celebrate than a trip to Georgetown Fairgrounds for the Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association's big bash, when Conklin's Shows will have its famous midway, followed by a fireworks displays. This year, the association is selling vouchers at $17.00 each which will cover the price of admission to the fairgrounds, plus as many rides as the holder wants to take. Vouchers are on sale at various locations around town, including The Freckled Lion, Pat's Prime Cuts and Deli, the Hospital gift shop and Sobey's in Acton. Starting on June 1st, the Celebrate the Arts Festival will take place in Acton, with storefront displays in various windows downtown. Acton also hosts its inaugural Farmers Market on Thursday June 17th ­ not to be missed! This is your chance to stroll and buy fresh fruit and veggies as well as other interesting merchandise. Downtown Georgetown's popular Farmers Market opens on Saturday, June 12th at 8am until 12.30pm and continues until Thanksgiving. May 7th marks the Opening Night of Georgetown Globe Musical Productions presentation of Man of La Mancha at the John Elliott Theatre, Georgetown. The show runs for two weekends and is a must for all who have dreamed the impossible dream.
