Artists at the Attic are Seeing Red The artists of the art gallery/gift store, Artisans' Attic, are pleased to present their new art show, Seeing Red, opening Wednesday, May 5, with a Meet The Artists reception, 6-9 p.m. The Artisans' Attic will be donating 10% of all sales to the Heart and Stroke Foundation on that night. Each artist has been inspired to create new art pieces that include the colour red in all its fiery beauty! This rapturous, robust colour will have its dramatic impact on all the materials these artists use in their work-- the precious stones and gems in jewelry, the clay and minerals in pottery and its glazes, the pigments used in the paintings, the dyes used in woven and knitted goods and the brilliant hue in photography. The Artisans' Attic, in its 14th year, is an artisan's co-operative comprised of 10 local artists. It houses their original work, as well as that of more than 20 other dynamic artists. The skilled work displayed at this store/gallery includes: functional and decorative pottery, weaving, basketry, jewellery, original paintings and limited edition prints, photography, stained glass, blown glass, papier maché, fibre arts, metal sculpture, wood-working and more.
