By CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer Halton Place, the 15 Sideroad horse farm, has fulfilled all outstanding issues related to a Town site plan agreement before time ran out. This allows the farm's planned equestrian events for this spring and summer to go ahead as scheduled, as approved under a Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) development permit issued last year. In March, council directed that Halton Place must have all outstanding Town site plan matters, related to pavement and stormwater management, resolved at least 30 days before the first event of the 2010 season-- May 26. The Town signed off on the site plan on April 23. Halton Place received approval of the required pavement and stormwater studies, completed site plan amendments as a result of these studies' recommendations, and secured and certified the completion of the site works. Salary Range: The salary range for this permanent, full time position is $94,384 to $112,361. This report, an add-on to the agenda, was dealt with without comment by council members. However, Regional Councillor Clark Somerville asked if people were notified about its inclusion on the agenda. Staff replied Halton Place's owner and legal counsel, residents who live on neighbouring properties, the NEC and Conservation Halton were all contacted about the report's inclusion. Meanwhile the NEC is dealing with a controversial-- between Halton Place and opposing neighbours-- noise attenuation berm as a separate issue from Halton Place's development permit for the 2009-10 events. Ward 2 incumbents to run Ward 2 incumbents Bryan Lewis and Joan Robson filed their nomination papers Thursday to seek re-election to Halton Hills Council on Monday, Oct. 25. Both Robson and Lewis were first elected to council in 2000, were both acclaimed in 2003, and survived one challenger in 2006. Since January, seven of the 11 members of the current council have filed papers for reelection: Mayor Rick Bonnette, Lewis, Robson, Wards 1& 2 Regional Councillor Clark Somerville, Ward 3 Councillor Dave Kentner, and Ward 4 Councillors Bob Inglis and John Duncan.
