2 Student Excellence, Thursday, May 27, 2010 Celebrating excellence Larissa Peck Brookville Larissa, a Grade 8 student, is a member of Student Forum executive, which provides the voice of students in the school and at school council meetings. A member of both the volleyball and basketball teams, as well as being a member of the school band and Eco Council, Larissa is motivated to succeed and this is reflected in her strong academic achievements and extra-curricular pursuits. Erica McDonald Centennial Erica, a Grade 8 student, is a fabulous role model to her peers and is involved in cheerleading, green team, Think-bowl, problem solving, office helping and many other initiatives. As the co-president of the Student Leaders, Erica helps to lead the school into important initiatives that impact the school community and other charities, both local and global. Nina Birac Gardiner Public School Nina is a Grade 8 student who has not only excelled academically throughout this year but she has also been a leader throughout Gardiner Public School. She has been a part of the school council, multiple athletic teams and she is widely respected among her peers and within the broader community. Paige Allen George Kennedy Paige, a Grade 5 student, exemplifies the Tribes Agreements and is a model school citizen. She routinely offers her help to others, both students and staff, and always works to help solve problems with and for others. Paige is an active student who participates in many extracurricular activities such as kindergarten lunch monitor, basketball and Book Lover's Club. Kelly Emberlin Glen Williams Kelly, a Grade 5 student, has demonstrated exemplary effort, attitude and academic achievement. She demonstrates all the components of the Tribes agreements and treats everyone with respect and courtesy. Kelly has participated in choir, volleyball, Battle of the Books and is a member of the Eco-Club. Alyson Irwin Harrison Alyson, a Grade 5 student, truly is successful in all aspects of school life. She is very busy with academics, cross-country, choir, cheerleading, Harrison Idol, French Club and many different intramural sports and yet Alyson is always willing to take on new challenges. Through it all she finds time to build and maintain friendships.
