34 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, June 3, 2010 Digitizing family history As a result of the generosity of the Halton-Peel Branch of the Ontario Geneological Society, those researching family information will soon find their job much easier, after the back issues of the Acton Free Press and Georgetown Herald are digitized. The OGS Branch recently donated $14,200 to the library to cover the cost of making the files more accessible, electronically. The funds were part of a bequest to make geneological records more easily accessed. On hand to receive the cheque were (from left) Halton Hills Public Library Manager of Public Services Geoff Cannon, Beverly King, Information Services Librarian from OGS Halton Peel Branch chair Bob Crawford and treasurer Bernie Bradner.
