REPORT RANKS CANADA'S LARGEST REAL ESTATE FIRMS (REAL Trends, Inc.-Denver) According to a recent research report produced by REAL Trends, the 200 largest residential real estate brokerage firms in Canada handled 392,898 closed transaction sides with a total sales volume of $111,129,231,104 in calendar year 2009. Based on the best information about total national housing sales this represents over 35% of all housing sales for 2009 in Canada The largest firm in terms of both closed transaction sides and total sales volume was Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd, located in Toronto, ON with 9,849 total closed transactions and $5,029,207,255 in total sales volume. MacDonald Realty Group, located in Vancouver, BC was the second largest firm in terms of sales volume with $4,710,426,423. The second largest firm in terms of closed transactions was Royal LePage Team Realty/Gale Realty with 7,697 total closed sides. The REAL Trends Canadian Top 200 firms had average productivity of 14.95 closed transactions per sales professional. This was over twice the average per person productivity seen in American brokerage.
