Kathryn to man lemonade stand during family's yard sale fundraiser for SickKids A young local girl who has been cancer free for a year after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2008 and her family wants to give back. Grateful for how well Kathryn Stewart, 7, is doing and the treatment she's received the Georgetown family has decided to hold a yard sale to raise money for the SickKids Foundation on Saturday, June 12. Kathryn underwent extensive treatment at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children including surgery, several rounds of chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants. Kathryn, who has always wanted to have a lemonade stand, is going to have one at the Yard Sale, where she will serve not only lemonade, but coffee and muffins as well. It will be called Kathryn's Kafe. All the money raised at the sale and Kathryn's Kafe will go toward the SickKids Foundation. Monetary donations are welcome. Kathryn's mom Heather said the funds will be directed to the James (Birrell) Fund for Neuroblastoma Research at SickKids. Items that will be for sale include a 36-inch television (about five years old), a 1950s sewing machine, computer, televisions, kid's clothes, Seven-year-old Kathryn Stewart was joined by her mom Heather and toys etc. The Yard Sale and Kathryn's Kafe will be at brother Geoff, 4, as they prepare for their lemonade stand and `kafe' in aid of the Hospital for Sick Kids.
