In Summer Sojourn Mortimer shares a body of works that have grown increasingly layered in materials and meaning - composites of symbolism and various media folded into one another and "grounded in a fascination with structure and ordered spaces, whether natural or manmade." In featuring pieces such as "A Quiet Place," "Serenity Edge" and "In the Hills - Summer" alongside "Willows" and "Florentine," this exhibition extends Mortimer's characteristic investigation of landscape to an exploration of culture and constructs that influence human interaction with that landscape.
