Already well known throughout Ontario thanks to a catchy jingle, Alexanian Carpet and Flooring's new Georgetown location is bringing the business's friendly customer service and wide variety of products to the people of Halton Hills. Founded in 1925, Alexanian Carpet and Flooring started as a small store in Hamilton that specialized in imported hand knotted oriental rugs. Today, the business has grown to 17 locations in southern Ontario and offers a wide range of flooring supplies, including ceramic, carpet, hardwood, laminate, cork, vinyl and area rugs. Alexanian Carpet and Flooring also creates custom designs for their clients. "For example, if someone wanted a Monet painting reproduced in an area rug, we can help with that," says Stephen Vendryes, a consultant at the Georgetown location. "It's a way for customers to get exactly what they want. The imagination is the limit." Vendryes focuses more on the design side of the business ­ helping homeowners with colour, mood and atmosphere ­ while store manager James Dager works with the contractors and professionals who come through the door. "We have the same personality but a different thrust," Vendryes says. "We both love what we do, especially meeting folks and helping people," Dager adds. Part of the company's focus on helping clients includes offering installation for all the products they sell. Alexanian Carpet and Flooring has an army of installers that travel across the province ­ whether to someone's home in Halton Hills or to a cottage in Muskoka ­ to install flooring and carpeting. The installers don't rest until the job is done and the customer is satisfied. "Purchasing flooring can be expensive and difficult because you have to move everything out of the way. It's like moving," Vendryes says. "The installers are the difference between a good, well-laid job and a not-good job. Our installers are committed to customer satisfaction. If you have a problem, they will work to correct it." If customers prefer to do the work themselves, Alexanian Carpet and Flooring's friendly staff can offer advice and tips. In addition to carpeting and flooring, Alexanian Carpet and Flooring has recently started to sell and install window coverings from Canadian companies like Hunter Douglas and Jackson. They also offer high-quality granites, marbles, slates, and porcelain and ceramic tiles for showers and backsplashes. "We only carry well-known name brands of the highest quality," Vendryes says. "We bend over backwards to please the customer and we are committed to customer satisfaction."
