Carr gets last-minute acclamation Halton Region chair Gary Carr won't be running an election campaign after all. Joseph Kus, an Oakville resident, had filed nomination papers to run against Carr, who took over the Region chair position in 2006, but late Monday Kus was not certified by the Region clerk.
