Eight years ago several visual artists got together and decided to gather together many of this local talent and showcase them at the Gallery in the Cultural Centre & Library. An invitation was sent out and the response was overwhelming. Who knew there was such talent hiding in plain sight among us? The show was a great success and the public's response encouraging. Mary Meredith, jewelry maker (left) and Susan Little, watercolourist, are among the more than 22 local artists participating in the Artists Among Us exhibit in the Gallery of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre. Eight years later the annual gathering of Artists Among Us is still going strong. This year's exhibit will take place at the Gallery from November 2-29. The show is open during library hours and admission is free. An exceptional collection of fine art, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, glass, fibre art, mixed media, and photography has been put together to showcase the vibrant and exciting arts of Halton Hills. Come and meet these Artists Among Us at a "Meet and Greet" reception at the Gallery on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 1-4 p.m. Admission is always free and refreshments will be served. On the weekends of November 6-7 and 13-14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the artists will be showing their work-- all priced at $100 or less-- at 124 Main St. S. in Georgetown. Now The Main St. Inn, it was formerly Sweet Designs when (from left) Herta Hajek, Tiziana Manierka, Beatrice Dumbreck,George Perdue, Jan Zimmerma, Eileen Simpson first showed their art 10 years ago.
