In Focus Physiotherapy, located at 324 Guelph Street in Georgetown, brings together registered physiotherapists Jenni Veneruz and SueAnn Rudaitis and registered massage therapist Cortney O'Brien. Veneruz, who started In Focus as a homecare practice in 2007, is one of the very few Canadian physiotherapists with advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation, a treatment for people with inner ear disorders. Over the years, she has helped local residents and people from as far away as Thunder Bay and Alberta with problems like vertigo, dizziness, balance problems and inner ear viruses. She travels around the Halton Hills area to treat many of her patients in the comfort of their own homes. "It's nice for people, especially if they're dizzy and not feeling well, to be in their home environment," says Veneruz, who has more than 16 years of experience. Rudaitis, who also has more than 16 years of physio experience, takes care of the clinic's neurological rehabilitation program. As a neuro-developmental-trained therapist, she works with people who have had strokes and traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, as well as patients with Parkinson's, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. In addition to the special vestibular and neurological rehabilitation programs, In Focus Physiotherapy provides post-operative and orthopedic care and as well as custom knee bracing. The clinic also runs a fall prevention program that incorporates strengthening and balance exercises to help seniors at risk for falls. "I really wanted to provide these services to my own community; my own people," says Veneruz, a lifelong resident of Georgetown. In Focus Physiotherapy is located at 324 Guelph Street in Georgetown. The clinic is fully accessible and has appointments available in the early morning and in the evening. No referral is necessary and treatment is covered by most extended health plans. For more information, call 905-702-7891.
