That could be one way to describe the Christ the King Jaguars' victory over Iroquois Ridge in Wednesday's Halton junior football Division III final at Hamilton's McMaster University. But Gaskell-Cadwallader, who scored all the Jaguars' points by running for three touchdowns and booting three converts, was quick to share the credit after helping Christ the King complete its first undefeated football season in school history. "It's all the (offensive) line. They worked hard all season, this game especially, and came up big when they needed to," said the 15-year-old Grade 10 student. "That's why I had the success." The Jags' defence also rose to the occasion, forcing four first-half turnovers to shut down the Ridge attack. Wednesday's victory in the Halton final also meant the Jaguars concluded the season with a 9-0 record, a dramatic turnaround from the 0-6 campaign they suffered through last year. "We had eight returning players from last year's team. A lot of Grade 10 athletes came out," said Mayberry, highlighting Justin Walker, Khalil Smith, Tyler Zapparoli and Patrick Gough as four key additions. "It was unbelievable the way the guys came together." Ryan Noakes and Ryan Moffatt recovered fumbles for Christ the King in the first half, while Tudor Bertien and Gough pulled down interceptions. The Jaguars also stopped Ridge on fourth-and-one early in the second quarter, shortly before Gaskell-Cadwallader's second touchdown of the game.
