16 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, December 9, 2010 Gaudeamus Choir hosts a Celtic Celebration on Saturday Campus e l l i v e g n a r Humber O in the fall 2011 Come experience the The Gaudeamus Children's Choir presents their annual December concert Goin' Home for Christmas, a Celtic Celebration, on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at St. John's United Church, 11 Guelph St. It is an evening of stories, songs, and the beautiful music of the Variante Harp and Flute Duo. Harpist Nathalie Younglai and flautist Catherine Richardson have been the Variante Harp & Flute Duo for almost 19 years. They have become known for their dazzling variety of musical styles-- from classical and jazz, to rock and beyond. On Saturday, they will be performing selections from their new CD, Celtic Charms. Through their music, they have donated over 1,500 hours of musical sharing to the MS Society, Hamilton Food Bank, Canadian Cancer Society and the Halton Learning Foundation, as well as many other charitable organizations. Together they have produced and recorded four CDs, including their latest, Celtic Charms was just released on November 26. Featured on the program are selections from Britten's Ceremony of Carols, with the Gaudeamus singers accompanied by Nathalie Younglai on the harp. The audience will be treated to poetry of Robert Burns, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and hear many other familiar c .
