Once again, during the 20th annual Scout/Guide food drive, you have helped restock our shelves so that the less fortunate can have food on the table for the upcoming holidays. This year, the drive brought in over 45,000 pounds of food and $1350 in cash donations. MERCI to all the people of Georgetown who donated food or cash, to those who just showed up to help sort, pack and move the boxes of food brought in by the Scouts, the Guides and their parents. It would have been impossible for us to do it all alone. Special thanks to our regular volunteers who helped guide everyone and make everything go so smoothly. Thanks to AMJ Campbell and The Carpet Barn for the trucks and Leferink for the free garbage disposal, to Georgetown Terminal Warehouse for the conveyors. Thanks to McDonald's for the cold drinks, The Beer Store for the 100s of boxes and also to Saputo, The Label Factory, Smurfit MBI and Alcoa. Thanks to the Independent and Free Press, Cogeco, Halton Hills for the advertising. Thanks to the Scouts, the Guides and their leaders and to the Alliance Church for providing us with the great space. The event is a constant reminder of the generosity of the population of our great town, both in terms of time and money. Merci Georgetown, see you next year! À l'année prochaine!
