BATTEN, Leslie Edward It is with deep sadness that the family of Leslie Edward Batten announces his passing. Leslie passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital with his family by his side on Saturday December 11th, 2010. Leslie will be forever loved and missed by family; Rose Batten, Carolyn Dixon, Linda and Steve Williams and grandchildren Holly, Brad and Madelyn Williams, Corey, Melissa and Kyle Dixon. Leslie was a wonderful and remarkable man and will be fondly remembered. At Leslie's request, there will no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. The funds will support the Fresh Food Box program. Photo by Ted Brown Shannon Kent (left) and Quinn West, members of the Halton Hills Blue Fins' swim club, decided to get into the holiday spirit by undertaking a food drive for the Georgetown Bread Basket, collecting 465 non-perishable items along with $225 in cash. The Blue Fins' executive helped out by donating 50 cents for every unit of food collected. Kent and West also issued a challenge to other sports teams and clubs to match or surpass the Blue Fins' donations for the Christmas food drive.
