Deadline extended for LeMonaco condo By CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer Halton Hills council has extended the deadline for a developer to obtain site plan approval for a 56-unit condominimum, known as the LeMonaco, on Hall Rd. Despite years of delay-- starting in 1995-- due to various reasons such as Ontario Municipal Board hearings and market conditions, this time the delay was not through any fault of the developer. Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is refusing to issue a permit to allow the building of foundations and the remaining stormwater works, due to the failure in design of an armour stone lining, completed by another developer, downstream. The Town had assumed maintenance responsibility for this lining, and are now in discussions over it with the CVC staff. "I can't believe we're in this situation," LeMonaco solictor Allan Heisey told council in a delegation last week. He requested the Town urge the CVC to issue the permit so LeMonaco could complete its required stream work during the "fish window" (June 15-Sept. 15). Ward 4 Councillor Bob Inglis, who said he and residents in the area have expressed frustration with the project's delays, said it is only fair in this case to give the extension. If LeMonaco secures its site approval by Oct. 31, 2011 it would have one year to get a building permit.
