N. Douglas Wehnde, 51, has been charged with careless driving. He is to appear in Milton court May 2. A careless driving conviction can carry a maximum penalty of any or all of the following: a fine of $2,000, six months in jail, a twoyear licence suspension and the application of six demerit points and a two-year DONNA suspension of the permit for REID the motor vehicle. Donna Reid, 48, who had a mild developmental disability, was walking across Mountainview Rd. N. on her way to work at Community Living North Halton's Horizon Packaging on Todd Road about 9:10 a.m. when she was hit by a southbound 2011 GM Sierra pickup truck near the centre of the road. At the time of the accident Sgt. Paul Davies of Halton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit said the new truck from nearby Georgetown Chevrolet was being driven by the franchisee of a Mississauga rust proofing company to his shop to be rust proofed before it was to be delivered to the purchaser. Davies said police had "good co-operation" from the businesses in the area and the collision was caught on closed circuit television. Pancake pals Fred and Kim Lehnhardt of Georgetown swap bites of pancakes at the Sweet Taste of Spring pancake breakfast held Saturday at the Limehouse Memorial Hall. The pair earlier took part in a trail hike through the Limehouse Conservation Area.
