One subdivision will include 80 single detached lots in Phase 2 of Fernbrook (Mountainview) and another 24 single detached homes on lands, just north of 10 Sideroad, west of Barber Dr. and east of 16 Mile Creek. The first is part of a longstanding Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) hearing and is under OMB jurisidiction. A hearing was held on April 15 with all parties agreeing to the Town approval, but the OMB member has yet to render a decision. Last fall, the Town allocated water to the new subdivision, provided Fernbrook agrees to provide the Town a financial contribution of $1,000 per SDE (single detached equivalent). The homes will also feature many items on the Town's new Green Checklist for new housing. The Town has also given draft approval to Halton Hills Village Homes's two-phase housing development of 793 units to be built by The Remington Group. This will be located on 115 acres on the north side of 10 Sideroad between Barber Dr. and Tenth Line. This development is also part of the April 15 OMB hearing. The plan calls for singles, semis and onstreet townhouses and a 70-unit seniors' housing complex.
