The public can help support this worthy cause by purchasing a Toonie for Tents certificate for $2 then "pitch their tent" at participating businesses acting as "campsites" throughout Acton, Georgetown, Norval and Milton. The Georgetown Kiwanis presented Community Living North Halton with a $7,500 cheque towards the Kiwanis camp programs. Community Living North Halton runs this summer day program in north Halton. The Kiwanis Camp programs will run through the month of July and provides indoor and outdoor activities to children and youth with special needs. The Georgetown Kiwanis have been very generous over the years, providing over $60,000 in funding support, however additional funds are required to ensure a complete program for those kids attending the 2011 day camps.
