Holmes, daughter support fundraiser On Saturday, (May 7), franchisees, staff and thousands of volunteers at 465 M&M Meat Shops locations across Canada raised $1,550,000 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) through the 23rd annual M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day. The event was supported in Georgetown by Amanda Holmes, daughter of "Canada's most trusted contractor" and Georgetown resident Mike Holmes. "When I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease even he didn't have the tools to fix me," said Amanda. "At this point, nobody does and that's why both of us are proud to support the CCFC and M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day." The pair helped out at the Georgetown M&M shop, flipping burgers and talking to fans. They were also joined by The Young & Restless soap star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman) who was at Georgetown Market Place earlier in the day for a promotional event.
