Games begin Friday evening and will be held at diamonds in Hornby, Glen Williams, the Gellert Community Cente, Milton and the home base Georgetown Fairgrounds. Photo by Eamonn Maher Jr. Grizzlies take first The Halton District School Board held its annual Harker Senior Relays track races recently at Notre Dame in Burlington, with 45 schools from across the region competing. Georgetown South's Gardiner Grizzlies tied for first in the junior division standings with 10 points alongside Maple Grove and Eastview of Oakville. The Grizzlies were led by a first-place performance by the junior girls' relay team, which won the 4x100m race in a time of 0:58.18, nearly two seconds faster than runner-up Aldershot. The Centennial Chargers also had a good showing at the meet, placing second in the senior girls' relay along with thirds in the junior girls' and intermediate boys' events. Lindsey Anderson won the senior singles' draw as well as senior doubles with teammate Chris Anderson. Chris Eldon and Christian Nieto-Mora placed first in junior singles while Eldon and David Coyle were tops in junior doubles. The junior team finished second, headed up by Russell Webb, Carter Snow, Cole Mayberry and Matthew Lavallee.
