In Focus, June, 2011 8 Plant Sale Glen Williams Shrub Sale Beautiful sunny weather drew crowds of local gardeners to the annual Shrub Sale in the Glen on May 21. Hosted by the Glen Williams Town Hall Board and St. John's United Church, the sale included a wide variety of quality plants like perennials, trees, shrubs and hanging baskets, as well as coffee, muffins and cookies. Emma and Henry Hawkins drum up some business. Gardening enthusiasts of all ages braved the rain on May 13 to attend Georgetown Horticultural Society's annual Plant Sale. The Gellert Centre lobby was a sea of green as local green thumbs placed bids on gardening-related items in the silent auction and stocked up on perennials, annuals, grasses, trees, shrubs, hanging baskets and unusual and rare plants in preparation for the summer gardening season. Georgetown Horticultural Society members were on hand to offer advice, answer questions and help with transportation. Happy gardening!
