Photos by Jon Borgstrom Games see rise in attendance By LISA TALLYN Staff Writer Georgetown Highland Games drew more people than last year but organizers believe the forecast for rain kept some away. Past president of the Halton Peel Highland Games Association Bill Miller didn't have attendance numbers Monday but said they did "better than last year." In the past the Games have drawn 5,000. "The parade (in recognition of the Lorne Scots Regiment's celebration of its 145th anniversary) went very well," said Miller, but a shower that came through in the early afternoon caused the cancellation of a couple of events and chased some people from the Fairgrounds. Miller said unfortunately those people that left, didn't come back despite the fact the rain stopped. He said the dip in attendance last year and to a lesser degree Saturday won't impact the future of the Games. "I would like to thank the sponsors-- especially the new ones-- the vendors, there were more this year," said Miller. $&+,//(6 0$='$ 2I 0LOWRQ 6WHHOHV $YH 0LOWRQ 21 /7 ; Vi s i t o u r s h o w r o o m Quality & Service You Can Count On! 332 Guelph Street, Georgetown (Across from Canadian Tire) ZZZDFKLOOHVPD]GDFD LQIR#DFKLOOHVPD]GDFD 3KRQH 3KRQH 7ROO IUHH )D[ · your window & door professionals · 905-702-0885 www.bathstudio .ca 341 Guelph St., Unit 3 Georgetown 905.873.0236 www.buy-wise.ca info@buy-wise.ca · awarded readers choice 16 times ·
