It's alleged that a 17-year-old female student from Eastdale Collegiate Institute was sexually assaulted by a teacher on Feb. 8. The student reported the allegation to school officials two days later and police were brought in. Police are concerned there may be more victims. "These are serious charges and we must act of course in the interest of student safety. The teacher was sent home immediately upon the allegation being reported and will remain away pending the outcome of the matter," said board superintendent Beth Butcher. The Gerrard St. E. school caters to a small population of just over 200 students who have mild intellectual delays. It prides itself on being a caring and supportive environment. A science teacher was arrested on Wednesday. Board officials then met with school staff.
