Needs study findings to be released The results of the Town of Halton Hills' Youth Needs Study (YNS) are in and community members are encouraged to weigh in on them at two public open houses set for next week. The first will be held at Acton District High School Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and another will be held in Georgetown at the Civic Centre Thursday, Nov. 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For the past year the Town has been gathering the thoughts, feedback and comments of youth in Halton Hills for the study. "The YNS is an opportunity for youth and their families to have a say in what is provided for youth in our community," said Mayor Rick Bonnette. "I encourage everyone to come out to the Open House to provide their feedback and ensure that the youth voice has been heard." Community members are encouraged to come to the open houses to hear the findings. There will be snacks, music and prizes (including iPods.) To be entered in the draw for an iPod youth must simply like YNS on Facebook. Transportation is available. Contact youth@haltonhills.ca or 905-873-2601 ext. 2276 for details. For more information on the study visit the Town's website at www.haltonhills.ca/ youth or Facebook/yns. 3 Independent & Free Press, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 HEAR WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING...
