GLT Youth Company opens Y1A on Thursday By ROXANNE THORTON Georgetown Little Theatre Amid all the flurry of activity at the Georgetown Little Theatre Studio at 33 Stewarttown Road, there is a wonderful new production getting ready to tread the boards of this award-winning community theatre. The Y1A, which will be performed November 24-26 at the Studio, is an annual event. These one-act plays are directed and produced and often even writMembers of the Georgetown Little Theatre Youth ten, by the talented young people of Company rehearse Romeo and Juliet, one of the GLT. Although they are all under the one-act plays to be performed at the Y1A Festival, age of 18, by their resulting work, you would think they had lengthy reNov. 24-26. sumes and a world of experience in the theatrical community. This year's three one-acts are very unique. The Last Heist, written and directed by Nick Uffen, is about two thieves who with the help of a shady informant, embark on one final train robbery before the elder of the two retires. Of course nothing goes as planned. Romeo and Juliet from the Sixty Minute Shakespeare is directed by David Borgal and fight scene managed by Simon Greenslade. It boasts a cast of 16 as they tell this classic tale within an early twentieth century modern world. The third play offered has some adult themes and content. The Hilsons written and directed by Mikayla Eastman, explores the negative effects upon a modern day family when a father goes missing.
