In Focus, December, 2011 14 #&57¯'EORGETOWN-EETING Fashion Show Local fashionistas made their way to the Georgetown Seniors Centre on October 31 for a fashion show featuring the latest clothing from Alia and Tan Jay. Centre members strutted their stuff as they modelled the latest casual and special occasion fashions and outerwear from the Milton store. The fashionable crowd enjoyed refreshments, door prizes and a 50/50 draw as they planned their wardrobes for the fall and winter. Bravo! The Georgetown chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) met at St. Alban's Church Hall in Glen Williams on November 1. Each monthly meeting includes a talk by an interesting guest speaker and last month was no different. Fashion designer Johanne St. Louis led a conversation titled "Empowering Rwandan Women" where she shared her experiences working with a group of genocide survivors. Johanne brought along an array of fair trade products made from Rwandan-grown certified organic cotton and silk. Photos by Andrea Lefebvre Rita Bairstow models one of the season's hottest colours. Bernie Bradner and Marilyn Mason encourage the fashionable crowd to buy 50/50 tickets. Madeleine Roberts happily accepts a door prize after her ticket was pulled.
