The vehicle was captured on video surveillance cameras at the Gellert and also seen by a witness at the facility. Based on information provided by Town of Halton Hills staff the incident was originally reported to have occurred early Thursday, however, Halton Police report the incident actually occurred early Wednesday. Police say about 4:22 a.m. a black, dark blue or dark green Dodge Dakota was seen entering the parking lot at the Gellert then proceed to the rugby field where it was driven in circles leaving deep groves resulting in about $10,000 in damage. The vehicle left the Gellert about 4:32 a.m. onto Eighth Line. Anyone with information on the vehicle or person responsible for the damage is asked to call the on duty Halton Regional Police staff sergeant at 905-878-5511 ext. 2405. There was also approximately $2,000 to $3,000 damage caused last week at two other parks in Georgetown-- the mini baseball diamond at Georgetown Fairgrounds and a soccer field at Harrison Public School.
