This plan addresses the existing and projected accommodation needs of students in elementary and secondary schools and identifies new capital project initiatives, such as the need for new schools. Please provide your input to the Planning Department by February 2, 2012: A lot of fingers are being crossed in Acton, hoping that Mother Nature co-operates and brings snow and cool weather in time for the first Acton Winter Carnival. The Acton B.I.A (Business Improvement Area) is organizing this first annual event taking place on Sunday, January 29, at Prospect Park and Roxy Coffee. Events will happen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. "The Winter Carnival is sure to offer some winter time fun and excitement for people of all ages, including a pond hockey tournament, public skating, snowman making competition, obstacle course, 3 pitch snow baseball tournament, bingo at the Boat House, photography competition, horse and wagon rides, chili cook off and more," said BIA manager Josey Let it snow! The Chili Cook-Off will be held at Roxy Coffee, 6 Mill St. E., (where a photography contest is already underway). Prizes will be given out at the closing ceremonies at Roxy Coffee.
