NOONAN, Ronald Anthony P.Eng July 16,1933 - December 31, 2011 Died peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Joan Noonan (née O'Donnell). He was the very proud father of five children, Maureen (Andrew Osbourne), John (Margrethe), Janet (Bob Randall), Timothy (Tess) and Patrick (Lesley). He always took great delight in his 12 g r a n d c h i l d r e n , R y a n , M a t t h e w, Jordan, Justin, Emma, Thomas, B r a d l e y, J e s s i c a , R o n n i e A n n e , Callum and Grace. Ron was pre-deceased by his grandson Timothy Joseph. Ron was born in Windsor, Ontario to the late Harold Anthony Noonan of London, Ontario and Edna Muriel Gill, of Grand Bend, Ontario. He was a graduate of Assumption College in Windsor and obtained his Engineering degree from the University of Detroit. Ron enjoyed a long and successful career at Oakville Hydro where he served as the General Manager for 22 years. After retiring in 1997 Ron was a real presence in the Oakville Rotary Club. His "Carnac the Magnificent" impressions will be forever remembered. Ron was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sixty Degree Club. Ron's biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends at home in Oakville and at his beloved Grand Bend. A very special thank-you to his daughter-inlaw, Tess Noonan, who nursed him in his final weeks and took care of him as she would her own father. Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) Oakville from 7-8:30 p.m on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 with a Funeral M a s s t o b e h e l d o n T h u r s d a y, January 5th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m at Saint Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. "You will always be remembered for your big heart and wonderful sense of humour".
